The D.C. Café Design Project required students to research a specific D.C. landmark, analyze its themes, and design a café following those themes. I was assigned the D.C. Tidal Basin, so I named my café "Basin Coffee + Tea".
My primary goal was to capture not only the essence of water but also the movement and rhythm that comes with its flow, as the basin was originally constructed to flush sediment from the Potomac River. Below is a gallery of perspective views rendered in 3ds Max and edited in Photoshop. Everything in this project was modeled by hand.
